2020-2021 School Year (Updated 7-28-20)

The First Day of School is Wednesday, August 12th.  This day will be a 2:30 dismissal with Thursday beginning our regular school days.  The school day will begin at 8:05 and will be dismissed at 3:28 on M-Th. and 2:27 on F.  This is a change from previous years.

Attached to this article you will find our opening plan to return to learning inside our classrooms.  Given the ever changing landscape we live in, we can all expect changes to this plan which will be communicated here.  Our #1 goal is to keep our students learning inside the building.  With this in mind, we will be requiring masks or face shields be worn by students and teachers during the school day.  Parents will have the option to opt their child out of our mask requirement and this form is also attached for you to see.  Every child will receive this form on August 12th to bring home.  If you have no objections to your child wearing a mask, nothing needs to be done with the form. If you wish to opt your child out, the form must be returned to school by Friday, August 14th.  I have also attached a scenario that provides an explanation for our mask requirement.

We have worked to address multiple items in our plan while knowing it is impossible to address all situations that may arise.  If you have questions regarding the start of the 20-21 school year, please contact myself or Mr. Aten via email at school.

Addition to mask requirement: Students may bring their own cloth or disposable mask to use in school.  If there are prints on the mask, they must school appropriate to meet the dress code requirements.  The school will have masks to provide students also if they do not have one.

Parents may opt their child out of the mask requirement after August 14th but all students without a signed opt-out waiver will be required to wear a mask before and after the 14th.  However we encourage everyone to follow our mask requirement to help ensure we can keep our students learning inside our school building.  This will also help ensure activities and athletics can move forward with their scheduled events.  We need everyone's help with this venture.  Thank you.
