Overton Track Season Begins
After having the first meet of the season cancelled due to weather, the Overton Boys and Girls Track teams participated in two meets last week.
On Tuesday, March 29th, the team travelled to Cozad to participate in a Triangular meet with Cozad and Gothenburg. Top performances were put in by several athletets. Mackenzie B. placed first in the Shot Put with a personal best throw of 34' 6". Bricen M. won the Boys Shot Put with a throw of 40' 2.5". Bricen also placed 4th in the Discus with a throw of 100'. Keith M. won the Boys 300 Int. hurdles with a time of 46.7 He also place 2nd in the 110 Highs with a time of 16.6 and 3rd in the Triple Jump. Other top 4 performances were: Schulyer B.-3rd Shot Put, Taylor K-3rd Triple Jump, Carrie J-4th High Jump, Braden K, 4th in the 300 Int Hurdles, and 3rd in 110 High hurdles, Josh T 4th in the 100, Jaycee W. 4th in the 400, Amaris C-3rd in the 300 Low hurdles, Jayden E 2nd in the 1600 and 4th in the 800, Peyton Z-3rd in the 1600 and 3200, Dane W-3rd in the 800
On Friday, April 1st, the team travelled to Kearney for the Pleasanton Invitational Track meet. The day was a cold windy day which hindered some of the team's performances. Mackenzie B placed 3rd in the Shot Put and Discus, Keith M placed 3rd in the 300 hurdles and Taylor K placed 6th in the Triple Jump. The Girls 3200 Relay team of Taylor K, Jaycee W, Amaris C, and Jayden E placed 2nd.
