 OCTOBER NEWS

PRESCHOOL— Miss Hogeland

It’s starting to feel like fall outside and the weather is changing.  Please make sure that your child brings a jacket or coat and is dressed for the weather.  We do go outside everyday for our free movement and outside time.

As a reminder, the students are doing a great job of getting into a routine and following our busy schedule, but we want to make mornings as smooth as possible. Please say your goodbyes in the hall and one of the teachers will help the students into the room and get started with their day. Thanks for your help in this matter!

This month we will be starting a “Name Hall of Fame” for children who are able to write their names on their own.  Their names will be placed in a section in the hall and they will receive a special award.  Please continue to work with your child at home on writing his/her name.  As you help your child make the letters, be sure he/she is starting at the top and saying the name of each letter as he/she writes it.  We are working on this at school, but your help at home is also appreciated! We want each child to have his/her name in our “Name Hall of Fame!”

Ask your child what he/she did at school each day and look at his/her work!  Can he/she sing the nursery rhymes we’ve been learning? Can he/she sing the ABC’s? Name their colors?

We are planning a trip to the pumpkin patch on October 15th.  We are so excited because it is always such a fun time!

We will be dressing up for Halloween for a Preschool parade & party on Oct. 29th1.  Watch for further details to come!!

THIS MONTH WE WILL BE LEARNING ABOUT…

  • Fire Safety
  • the Fall season
  • Our alphabet. Starting with letter A, working on one a week.

We have a new handwriting curriculum and will be sending home a note with each capital and lowercase pletter that has activities to do together. This is not homework that has to come back, but just some great ideas and things to work on at home.

DATES TO REMEMBER…
